Wilbur
the Galah and Pip the Eastern Rosella
About Wilbur the
Galah by Chrissy the Alaskan Malamute
This is Wilbur my little feathery friend.
She has been in the family longer than me. Freyja and Andrew found her one morning with a
broken wing and have kept her ever since. Wilbur will probably live 50 years so I guess
she will have the last laugh with our fun and games!!!. A Galah is a type of parrot that
is native to Australia. Wilbur can never fly again
so my family adopted her. She is very noisy, especially in the
morning when I am sleeping. She loves to talk to other birds flying past so we put her out
on the balcony to get some sun and fresh air, and maybe talk to some friends.
Some black tailed cockatoos dropped by the other day and had a bath in our frog
pond. Galah is
also slang for an empty-headed person. If you haven't seen one, some people might
call YOU a "great galah".
How to Build a
Galah Nest Box

Pip
is a Tasmanian white-faced Eastern Rosella and exhibits all the colours of the rainbow.
Red,
orange, yellow, green, blue.
Pip
is a companion for Wilbur and he has copied her songs.
He
has also copied the mobile phone tones, the microwave beeps and other sounds,
but the best is his authentic smoke detector alarm which really gets everyone
running around to see what the problem is.
